Rothschilds and their predecessor bankers would get European royalty or other leaders to become indebted through wars or gambling or other expensive pursuits. Once the leaders tried to pay back the monies they were discredited through a campaign of l'infamie (destroy public reputation through lies or temptation or guilt by association) and ousted from power by outraged citizens or rivals. This in turn led to need for more capital as the nation became involved in civil strife and new wars and indebtedness grew. End result was ever-increasing debt and excessive banker control over nations and organizations.
