Bomb threat: Brussels Central station evacuated
Sweepings with sniffer dogs are currently taking place at the Brussels Central station after the local police of the Brussels Capital-Ixelles zone received a bomb threat.
“At 4:50 PM, the police received a phone call with a threat towards the central station,” the federal police told De Morgen. “Of course, we’re taking this very seriously at the moment.”
At the moment, the police are clearing the station, and there are sweepings with sniffer dogs going on. Metro and train traffic has also been shut down for the time being.

Suspect in 1991 political assassination in Liege arrested in Italy
The foreign affairs ministry has confirmed reports in the Italian media of the arrest of fugitive Cosimo Solazzo, wanted in Belgium in connection with the 1991 murder of senior socialist politician André Cools.
“We have received confirmation via our embassy in Rome that Cosimo Solazzo was arrested by the carabineers at Veglie, on the basis of the European arrest warrant issued by Belgian justice,” a ministry spokesperson told Belga news agency.
Solazzo, now aged 72, was sentenced to 20 years in his absence by a court in Liege in January 2004

Legislation allowing cities to ban handguns to come, Canada PM says
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Sunday that lawmakers were working to introduce legislation that would allow individual cities to ban handguns.
The move follows a ban on 1,500 different types of "assault weapons" last week.
Trudeau said the government is also working on legislation dealing with the border and gun storage, although it unclear when that legislation will appear.
"We know there is more to do on strengthening gun control in this country which is why we're going to be moving forward when Parliament allows it with stronger measures around borders, stronger measures around safe storage," Trudeau said. "Measures around handguns to permit municipalities to ban handguns within their city limits."
Legislation will also need to be introduced to support the two-year amnesty and buyback program required for last week's ban.

Albanian Doctors Fighting Coronavirus in Italy Fined for Throwing Party
Authorities have fined Albanian doctors and nurses who came to Italy to help fight the Chinese coronavirus outbreak for throwing a party in their hotel room following the end of their mission.
The ten medical professionals arrived in the city of Brescia around a month ago to help local hospitals deal with the outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus. They came after the Albanian government offered assistance to Italy, with Albanian prime minister Edi Rama sending a total of 30 doctors to the country at the end of March.
The doctors and nurses decided to have a small party with music and alcohol to celebrate the end of their stay, but the owner of the Regal Hotel reported them to the police, La Repubblica reports.
The hotel’s owner Luca Andriani claimed that the group were very loud and said that some had shouted from balconies, tried to access the hotel swimming pool, and had vomited in parts of the hotel. He even claimed that the hotel informed the hospital of their actions.
“The night porter called me around midnight and told me that the party had been going on for hours. There were alcohol and loud music which provoked protests from the guests of the other rooms, occupied during this period exclusively by health personnel and law and order officers, in particular carabinieri,” he said.

Qatar says rumors about coup in Doha are ‘fabricated’
BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:40 P.M.) – The Qatari ambassador to Russia, Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, told the Tass News Agency on Monday that the videos circulated on social media about the alleged coup attempt are “fabricated”.
The ambassador said: “These videos (which were shown through some channels in the Telegram and others) are fabricated and are not related to reality.”
To that, a source in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Russia’s Sputnik Agency that the news that appeared in the media and social media on the allegations of the coup in Qatar is just “media filling” and “fake news”.
A video alleging that its publishers were filmed this morning in the Al-Wakra region in Qatar, and gunfire was heard, and it was said that it was a coup, while others said they were fabricated videos.

Man arrested 3 times in 1 day under CA's coronavirus-based zero-bail policy
Officers in Los Angeles County arrested and released a suspect three times in one day after he was repeatedly let go based on the zero-bail policy that California has put into effect due to the coronavirus pandemic, police said.
The policy is intended to keep the jail population lower due to COVID-19 concerns, officials say.
On Wednesday, officers responded to a call of a man attempting to break into a vehicle in the city of Glendora, in the San Gabriel Valley. According to the police, Dijon Landrum, 24, was allegedly attempting to drive away in the stolen vehicle.
Landrum was arrested, issued a citation and released, officers said.
About an hour after Landrum was released, the department said it received a call about a man allegedly taking items from residences' front yards. The responding officers allegedly found Landrum at the scene in possession of stolen items.
