It lets you look underneath the hood at source code. If you look at the list of processes running on any system there’s a ton of them. They could, in theory, be capturing every key you press, every website you visit, every password, and then send it off somewhere. You wouldn’t have any idea based on the process name. But if you take a look at the executable through Ghidra you’d get to see what they’re really doing. Another anon compared it to getting the recipe for a cupcake you’re eating … and maybe finding out they added a cup of bleach.
