it allows you to break the software up into it's useful parts. It lets you see the data and the methods. It lets you know all the memory activity. It allows you to debug the software without having debug symbols.

here is a trick that old time real time software engineer, and console hackers know about the old school equipment (designed by Americans for reuse) a lot of the old console systems would have an RS-232 port on the back of it. Often it's undocumented that if you connect to it you get terminal connection.

you can comm to the system through it's system port, it's development port.

also when you compile often times pepole need to do what is called 'debugging'. This is not possible to do without the symbol table (you can still walk the code in an assembler, but you won't know what it is).

the Ghadra will allow one to debug the code and a software guru type will quickly be able to defeat some of the more common and vicious

viruses, etc. Or defeat the 'security' that software has.

It may be wise to run this software in a virutalized environment.

the trouble with compromised boards is that it's not just with the processors that the system is compromised. There may be extra circuits, totally wireless, that only connect through some strange and rare propriatory method and use ony memory and leave no footprint on the harddrive. ONe would need a sniffer to see.

for example imagine being able to insert some pinhead sized device into a fiber connectoin and wirelessly transmit the data as it is being passed through the fiber.

any way ya, it's fun and most of the people who set up these hack systems are usually low rent psycho children of the obvious types. They are put into the job to steal all the methods of everyone there who is useful and then replace them with low rent foreiginers paid for the skim of the software contractor rebilling of "HR".
