North Atlanta Georgianon reporting in
Today's mission: observe & report anecdotal intel from surrounding suburban area
Location: 3 different shopping centers
Traffic conditions: Surprisingly heavy compared to previous weeks
Timeframe: 2 hours between 4:30 and 6:30 pm EST
Plenty of people out driving around, noticeable pedestrian traffic in parking lots
Stores which were open to walk-in traffic were doing business
Three different Mexican restaurants all had plenty of Cinco de Mayo customers, live music at one of them
Nothing unusual, a few people with masks but mostly not seeing many
Also anecdotal: the older people and others with a ton of health problems are still too panicked to go out.
Have a few friends I don't anticipate seeing in person again for a long time, they're off-the-deep-end paranoid.
In other news, yet-another City of Atlanta procurement employee was fired for corruption:
"Federal authorities do not name the official in legal documents, but the AJC has learned that Mano Smith, a senior procurement manager whose team of eight employees handled airport contracts, was fired by the city on Friday. His team handled airport contracts worth tens of millions of dollars."
