I'll tell you how bad Washington state is. Asotin County refuses to open up their landfill until Inslee tells them so. They have been closed for over a month. The county commissioners are telling washington State residents who live in that county of 22,500 people to go to Idaho and dump their loads.
After Multiple attempts county wide to get the landfill open their cries falls on deaf ears with the city officals and the Mayor.
City officials took a vote when the shut down happened in March whether or not to keep the landfill open. It was a 4 vote count to keep the dump closed to residents bringing any loads to their facilities.
With a population of 22,500 and change residents can only bring 2 bagged house hold trash bags to the landfill. This leaves homeowners who are doing work on their house or yard left with a pile of rubble wherever on their property they can store it.
The county commissioner assured the residents they have been trying to work with Inslee on getting the dump open
One resident called Inslee's office today and explained the situation. Inslee's office said that this is the first they are hearing from Asotin county and that Inslee's order states that landfills were to remain open.
City commissioner gave a reason why the landfill was to be closed.
They did not think it was safe to handle cash, credit cards or debit cards through a drive thu window.
Asotin County is being denied basic Health and Sanitation
