Try having him swish some warm salt water. Does he have a fever? If so, you need to go to the ER. He could have an abscess…he needs antibiotics most likely. Cephalosporins like Penicillin, Keflex, Ancef usually cover it. Ibuprofen and Tylenol can also be alternated Ibuprofen then 2 hours later tylenol then 2 hours later ibuprofen, so it is every 4 hours but staggered. Hope this helps. Take him to the ER if you have to.
