PROVIDENCE - Starting Friday, all Rhode Islanders in public places will be required to wear a face covering.
The face-covering requirement will be part of a new normal, Gov. Gina Raimondo said Tuesday, “We have to embrace new ways of living our lives,” she said, and “accept the virus is here to stay with us for at least a year until we have a vaccine or a treatment.” Raimondo said her staff was still working out the details of what the penalties will be for violating the face-covering order, but “there will be fines.”
