The New Living Translation is accurate and very easy to read. Not just "Living Translation" but "New Living Translation" the other is just a paraphrase, not evil or anything but a translation is better. I personally use a New American Standard but I'm very familiar with the Bible so the higher reading comprehension level doesn't present a challenge. Why make it unnecessarily difficult?

You can get an interlinear for study but have an easy to read Bible for most of your reading. An interlinear has the original Greek over top of the English translation. (Greek if it's the New Testament, Hebrew if it's the old Testament). Of course the English and Greek aren't going to line up exactly as Greek structure it's sentences differently from English and many words can't translate easily one word for one word.
