Medicalrecordanon here- in the past few weeks there has been an uptick in a diagnosis: COVID 19 pneumonia. No comma; all one word.
Curious, eh?
That was my thought too. I haven’t had time to check whether there’s an insurance code for it (ICD-10)
Would be a cool dig as iirc those codes are set by the WHO.
Pneumonia can be caused by all sorts of different things, organisms as well as even food (aspiration) so usually they have to classify which type it is. So is this COVID pne diagnosis truly a pne caused by COVID… maybe they get more money that way. Hard to say.
I clicked the black box. Kek
It did in my mind :)
I did a quick search and found this:
https://www.icd10data.com/ICD10CM/Codes/J00-J99/J09-J18/J12-/J12.81

There’s more on that link but I’m phonefagging - hard to copy stuff.
But look at this:
“ The 2020 edition of ICD-10-CM J12.81 became effective on October 1, 2019.”
hey WI, some good news
https://www.fox9.com/news/some-businesses-in-rice-lake-wis-reopening-despite-safer-at-home-order
This caught my eye —
“ Many of the businesses on Main Street in Rice Lake, Wisconsin are still closed, butunder a resolution passed by the city last weekthey could open if they take precautions. On Wednesday, Dan Schwab will open his fitness center for the first time in nearly two months.”
Rice Lake is an area that is heavily based on tourism and picks up right around Memorial Day. It’s been my thought that gov Evers is purposely trying to dick with that.
Then also worthington MN. Lots of Mexicans work there and live with many family members in same houses.
