Well, when Salvation cannot be under any other Name, then without Him, one receives the just reward. The God who provided Salvation is also just. To not require a payment for sin (which of course His Son remitted on behalf of those the Father gave Him) would be a lie.
God cannot lie. He is just, and He is also merciful. To not address transgression would be unjust, to not provide salvation for His people would be unmerciful.
Those who are humbled before a just God, seek His mercy from condemnation He provided in His Son, Jesus Christ who took their place in paying the wage of their sins.
