The title is misleading, to say the least. The House Judiciary Committee (Nadler) wants the secret Grand Jury information because he wants to see what their exposure is (himself and others involved, to see how deep shit they are in, how much is known).
Grand Jury information is always secret. Always. The reason is that sometimes after a GJ, the person is not charged. Also information obtained might injure the reputation of someone who was mentioned in some way (but is not the subject) AND witness es who give testimony can speak freely because it will stay secret (so if released it may open them up to death, abuse or retaliation).
SCOTUS should not allow the GJ info to be released to the HJC. It would set a horrendous precedent. I think they know that.
