What if we're devolving? When I look at the past, I see people who were far more hardy than today. And we've had massive cities full of kings and queens since time immemorial. In fact, cities used to be far more beautiful than today.
Then there's the idea of Idiocracy being a thing. "Never attempted before in history." Freeing the underclass that has been farmed for millennium by an inbreeding elite? Run population control when the proles get too smart, and start over? But now with the technology it'll be permanent?
