Do they know if it leaves the survivor debilitated in some important way?
Do they know if whether the survivor might still be contagious? (Last I heard, this was not known one way or the other.)
Are they acting out of caution based on needing further data and better tests?
I spent 4-5 days hounding him to figure out if he was legit and, if so, what his purpose was. At some point I deemed him legit and started following his advice, which resulted in some solid memes.
