Tennessee provides lists of people with COVID-19 to local law enforcement

 

The Tennessee Department of Health is distributing daily lists to law enforcement of people who have tested positive for COVID-19. Nearly every county in our region has the list on file.

 

The Department of Health first offered the lists to sheriff's departments April 9, a month ago. Despite federal laws protecting patient privacy, it's perfectly legal.

 

The lists include daily updates with the names and addresses of every person who tests positive for COVID-19. If you test positive, you remain on the list for 30 days.
