The world underestimated 'China's Trojan horse opportunism'
Top Chinese officials allegedly kept the news of COVID-19 away from its citizens for six days because it doesn't "give a stuff about human rights" and is more concerned about "what the world thinks of them," says social commentator Prue MacSween.
"We understand it's all about control in China," she said.
Ms MacSween said the only positive which has come out of the coronavirus pandemic is the rest of the world is "starting to wake up (as) it's been asleep at the wheel".
"We have for so long underestimated the scale of ambition of China and its Trojan horse opportunism".
She told Sky News host Chris Smith Australia and the world as a whole need to "treat China with the contempt and disdain and wariness that it has earned".
