Farmers are required to take extensive training yearly on restricted use pesticides (anything not approved for common garden use). The biggest use of GMOs is for Round-Up Ready corn and soybeans - eliminates the need for numerous passes over the growing season to apply far more hazardous herbicides that are much more dangerous to the farmer, neighbors, consumers, and the environment. The liberals have shit for brains. BTW, where I live, the farmers apply manure to their fields of Round-Up Ready corn and beans because it significantly increases yields over regular fertilizer (which may still be needed due to required phosphorus and potassium).
