Maybe I'm just too much of an oldfag now, and you yungins don't remember Zork, but it's a High Fantasy/Comedy Adventure game series. Think "The Bard's Tale," or Myst by way of Monty Python.

It's not actual alchemical/cult stuff. It just rips off a lot of the iconography for its puzzles, and then juxtaposes it with ridiculous humor. It's a really classic series of games.
