As a voat anon, v/pizzagate wasn’t terribly active before hand, though there was a comment from one of the mods about a day before stating that they have identified the true culprit in Judith Barsi’s murder (as in the gunman) and were going to reveal it soon.

Maybe there was a post in v/QRV that triggered the attack?
