Houston-based department store owner files for bankruptcy protection, CFO to leave

Stage Stores operates specialty department stores under the Bealls, Goody’s, Palais Royal, Peebles and Stage brands as well as the Gordmans off-price brand.

Additionally, Jason Curtis, Stage's executive vice president and CFO, will step down on May 22 to take a job with another retailer, according to a May 10.
