My son was affected by this disease. I have tried to think about what the hell this could have to do with CV and just can't make the connection. Kawasaki can affect children in clusters and is maddening to figure out. I never thought anything would baffle me more than autism...go figure. My opinion (as someone who has read dozens of theories on the causes of this disease) is that they are possibly using this to scare parents into testing for CV or vaxing for CV. Since children aren’t really affected they would have no other reason to add this shot to the schedule. The schedule is where the magic happens because that is where the liability ends for pharma. Getting on the schedule is THE GOAL. I saw a recent article calling KD the "boogeyman of pediatrics" Rightfully so, it is TERRIFYING to think of your child’s heart being affected. It certainly shaved a few years off of my life. They keep showing articles and news reports calling it scary. It has to be meant to frighten people. They have also recently added to the google explanation of Kawasaki Disease that its origins are agricultural winds over China. This only serves to panic the public more. I’m sure of this because my MIL, who never gave a shit about my kid having KD, called in a breathless panic yesterday since “CNN has linked the disease to China.” The wind thing was only a theory that came out of Rady Clinic in San Francisco. Suddenly, it's the likely cause, but still just doesn't seem to explain things for all cases. Since patriots are in control, I was hoping that there was a spotlight being cast upon this disease. I think they are aware of the cases, but holding out until they have a vax. The current treatment for this is a very costly one (IVIG). In aside, I am aware that the numbers have been rising in black children more recently and KD is a known side effect of vax (not true in all cases as we have been antivax for many years before affected) This disease needs attention as it is hurting the hearts of babies and children.
