Trudeau makes Covid-19 aid intended to ‘save Canadian jobs’ conditional on meeting climate change goals

Adding insult to the injury of Covid-19 closures, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that businesses seeking emergency payroll funding will have to demonstrate their compliance with ‘climate charge’ guidelines.

Citing the need to protect “Canadian middle-class jobs and safeguard our economy,” Trudeau on Monday rolled out the expansion of the Large Employer Emergency Financing Facility (LEEFF), intended to provide bridge liquidity to companies unable to meet their payroll due to the shutdown.

There is, of course, a catch. Among the standard safeguards listed in the government announcement – limits on stock buybacks, verification of a company’s tax status, protections for unions and pensions, among other things – there was this as well:

“In addition, recipient companies would be required to commit to publish annual climate-related disclosure reports… including how their future operations will support environmental sustainability and national climate goals.”

Asked whether the aid would be given to oil and gas companies, Trudeau said the government expects them to “put forward a frame within which they will demonstrate their commitments to reducing emissions and fighting climate change,” and that many have already made commitments to net-zero emissions by 2050.

San Antonio City Council Unanimously Passes “COVID-19 Anti-Hate Resolution” Will Condemn Terms Like Kung Fu Flu and Chinese Virus — IT’S RACIST

This was the pressing issue in San Antonio, Texas this past week.

The city council passed a “COVID-19 Anti-Hate Resolution” that condemns terms like the Kung Fu Flu and Chinese virus.

The coronavirus likely leaked from a Wuhan, China lab and then spread around the globe.

This is just more proof of Democrat insanity.

In a letter to council members, Mayor Ron Nirenberg says the city must take a stand against COVID-19 hate speech.

“This coronavirus has held no regard for race, religion, creed, or political boundary. As such, our efforts must meet the indiscriminate nature of COVID-19 with empathy and compassion for all our neighbors,” writes Nirenberg. “I ask that you consider adopting the attached resolution – which declares that our COVID-19 response efforts will be free of hate and discrimination – at the next Council A-Session.”

Nirenberg’s letter adds that terms like ‘Chinese virus’ and ‘Kung Fu Virus’ only encourage hate crimes and incidents against Asian communities; and that the Jewish community has also been targeted with blame and conspiracy theories regarding coronavirus.

NY Gov. Cuomo Calls Wuhan Coronavirus a “European Virus” (VIDEO)

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday said many times during a presser that the Coronavirus pandemic that originated in Wuhan, China, is a “European virus.”

“When we started this…yes we have more cases than anyone else — yes, we had this European virus attack us and nobody expected it…” Cuomo said.

The media has yet to call out this charlatan.

Governor Cuomo previously lavished praises on China and thanked the Chinese Communist government for donating 1,000 ventilators.

Because we don’t have a media, Cuomo has gotten away with thanking the CCP after they lied about the Coronavirus outbreak which led to thousands of deaths in New York (and the US), and blaming Europe.

Andrew Cuomo also required COVID-19 patients to be sent back to nursing homes resulting in thousands of deaths.

Cuomo over the weekend finally reversed his nursing home directive after thousands of elderly residents died from the Coronavirus.

If we had an honest media, Cuomo’s career would be over.

White House Orders All Staff To Wear Face Masks 'At All Times'

President Trump and Chief of Staff Mark Meadows have issued a memo to all who work in the West Wing that masks must be worn at all times inside the building except when at one's desk, WSJ reports.

The decision is notable since the White House actually seems to be reacting to criticism and improving its policy on masks after President Trump and VP Pence were both called out for not wearing masks in public.

Two White House staffers tested positive for COVID-19 last week, and VP Pence has said he will be working in quarantine after being exposed to an aide who tested positive. Pence in particular has endured criticism for neglecting to wear a mask during a visit to the Mayo Clinic.

President Trump reportedly "erupted" at his aides for purportedly failing to prioritize his safety.

Notably, the press has painted Trump as someone who has recklessly refused to wear masks, setting an example that critics say has confused the public (though we'd argue the conflicting research about the efficacy of masks and initial recommendations that they only be worn by the sick are probably caused more confusion).

And for those who are tempted to argue that the "science" has changed, keep in mind. Aside from maybe one or two additional non-peer-reviewed studies, not much has changed in terms of the available research. It's just that the West, for whatever reason, didn't accept the precautionary mask culture, until its leaders decided it might help the public take things a little more seriously.

Of course, President Trump probably doesn't really need to wear a mask since nobody every really gets within six feet of him, except for his closest aides, foreign leaders and other politicians.

Trump has said he doesn't believe wearing a mask is "appropriate" for public duties: "I think wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens, I don’t know. Somehow, I don’t see it for myself. I just don’t.”

Several aides told WSJ they don't expect Trump to start wearing a mask.

In May 2017 Former Attorney General Sally Yates went before Congress and lied about General Michael Flynn being compromised by Russia.

Yates knew General Michael Flynn was not compromised. She lied anyway.

The Deep State was listening in on all of General Flynn’s conversations with foreign leaders which was his job. They knew Russia had nothing on him. They knew this was a lie.

Crooked Sally Yates told Congress that the Logan Act was the first reason she intervened in the Flynn case — the reason FBI agents were sent to the White House to interview Flynn in the Trump administration’s early days. The Logan Act has not been prosecuted in the United States for over 200 years. She knew this. Michael Flynn was innocent.

Sally Yates is a criminal and a liar.

We also know that a Deep State spy set up General Flynn. And Flynn not only reported his trip to Russia before he went, he also took training on how to act and then provided the intelligence community information upon his return on what he learned. All of this information has been kept quiet by the intelligence community for two years until early this year

It was Sally Yates who “flagged” General Flynn’s completely innocent call with the Russian ambassador as “highly significant” and “potentially illegal.”

So was Sally Yates the leaker? And will she ever be prosecuted for perjury?

Feds spent nearly $100B on pandemic readiness, health security in decade leading up to coronavirus crisis

Over the past decade, the U.S. government spent nearly $100 billion on preparation for major health crises including pandemics, according to a 2018 paper on such funding – though the coronavirus outbreak still had Washington and states across the country scrambling to muster supplies and respond when it hit.

Numbers from a paper in the academic journal "Health Security" released in late 2018 indicate that the government spent between $10 billion and $12 billion each year from 2010 to 2018 across several agencies on programs that contribute to "biosecurity," the management of "pandemic influenza and emerging infectious diseases," and "multiple-hazard and general preparedness" programs that assist in readiness for and response to different types of health threats, including diseases like the coronavirus.

COVID-19 seems to be the kind of problem the U.S. was preparing for, but a debate has raged in Washington over whether the money was spent effectively.
