Took the plunge today on Facebook.
Crap hit reply too early. Meant to say that it's getting easier to public speak about this. If you have a professional life and can be negatively impacted by speaking heavy handedly about the storm, a quiet cover photo is a great way to see who around you feels the way you feel.
Liberal city in a liberal industry, with liberal friends and liberal bosses that would be fine redistributing my position elsewhere. This stuff is pretty unprecedented, and we already know that many in the movement aren't public about it. Not everyone posts about politics with their real life accounts given the climate and how people literally erase you from their lives for saying the wrong thing.
This post was to encourage those to take the first step that have not done so, so can we find common ground here? It clearly wasn't aimed at you.
Nope, my friends and family know. I've talked about it along the way and every major topic has come to pass. That enabled enough confidence for them to believe me when I said to pull their 401k back in Feb then slow start to scale back in. That redpilled pretty much everyone in my immediate circle who now have a talking point on how the source of this information created a positive outcome for them, and they are mentally prepared for what's next. That's the kind of shit that resonates with people who don't spend their time on the chans.
Anyone I talk about in real life with politics know. This is for the thousands of people - extended family, acquaintances, professional network, and other connections that exist primarily on controlled social platforms. If you think it isn't difficult for some people to do this, then you're living in an echochamber of your own. The personal risk/reward needs to be beneficial.
Interesting to see negative replies to it though. It's a post that was aimed at someone who wouldn't otherwise associate their personal/public profiles with the movement, and that now is the time to do so.
My anonymous Twitter account was doing that work for years. This is about the association with public things attached to your real name. If you spent any time on Twitter, you would know that a large portion of MAGA accounts don't include profile pictures, and are anonymous. Why are you disparaging someone for taking a step to change that and encouraging others as well? Kinda reeks tbh.
And a cover photo change ALWAYS has high engagement. Very good place to add a message if you haven't already.
