Some thoughts mixed with some Q. I think I understand why "building a map" is important. Basically because the information we really want to know is classified, so we have to find it ourselves. Most of this is reiterating what we already know, but I think it's worth going over again.

Deeper we go, the more unrealistic it all becomes. (we need a good map to navigate)

The end won't be for everyone.

That choice, to know, will be yours. (because we will build our own map and find our own answers. Q won't tell us everything).

Building the Map

What are patterns?

a discernible coherent system based on the intended interrelationship of component parts e.g. foreign policy patterns

frequent or widespread incidence e.g. a pattern of dissent, a pattern of violence

How are patterns formed and isolated?

What are data sets?

A data set (or dataset) is a collection of data.

What is a map?

Just like your house key opens your front door, a map key or legend opens up a map. The map key is what gives you all the information you need for a map to make sense. But first, what exactly is a map? It is a way that we can show different parts of Earth in two dimensions. Maps can show large areas, like the entire planet, or very small areas, like your neighborhood. The purpose of a map is to show how things relate to each other spatially, but more often than not, a map also shows other kinds of information.

Designing a Map Legend - If you are designing a map and legend, you may come up with your own symbols and colors or you may rely on standard sets of icons, depending on the purpose of your illustration.

Why is a legend useful? (more easily navigate the map - links between things).

What is a sequence?

One of the three basic logic structures in computer programming. The other two logic structures are selection and loop. In a sequence structure, an action, or event, leads to the next ordered action in a predetermined order. The sequence can contain any number of actions, but no actions can be skipped in the sequence.

Why is this relevant?

When does a map become a guide? (when it shows us the relationships between things we are interested in?)

What is a keystone?

A Keystone is the wedge-shaped stone piece at the apex of a masonry vault or arch, which is the final piece placed during construction and locks all the stones into position, allowing the arch to bear weight.

Stop the things you tell

Watch out, I ain't lyin'

Yeah, I can't stand it
