BREAKING: FBI Seizes Senator Burr’s Phone in Connection with Federal Investigation Into His Stock Trades

The FBI seized Senator Richard Burr’s (R-NC) phone Wednesday evening in connection with the federal probe into his stock trades.

The LA Times reported

Federal agents seized a cellphone belonging to a prominent Republican senator on Wednesday night as part of the Justice Department’s investigation into controversial stock trades he made as the novel coronavirus first struck the U.S., a law enforcement official said.

Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, turned over his phone to agents after they served a search warrant on the lawmaker at his residence in the Washington area, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss a law enforcement action.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Strikes Down Democrat Governor’s Coronavirus Lockdown Order

The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Wednesday tossed out Democrat Governor Tony Evers’s authoritarian Coronavirus lockdown order in a 4-3 decision, ruling it “unlawful” and “unenforceable.”

The high court ruled Evers’s administration overstepped its authority when it extended the Coronavirus shutdown for another month without discussing it with the state legislators.

The state Department of Health Services (unelected bureaucrats) issued the extension of the order to May 26 after only 421 Coronavirus deaths in the entire state!

The Republican-led state legislature fought for the small businesses and unemployed people suffering because of the lockdown order and won big today!

FDA orders Bill Gates-funded program to HALT at-home Covid-19 self-testing

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ordered a Seattle-based Covid-19 testing project funded by Bill Gates to stop screening for the virus, putting the program on ice as it provided hundreds of at-home test kits each day.

The billionaire Microsoft icon announced the initiative in a blog post this week – dubbed the Seattle Coronavirus Assessment Network, or SCAN – which he said was already distributing some 300 test kits on a daily basis. As of Wednesday, however, all links to the project’s website redirect to a notice stating its operations are “currently paused” due to a conflict with the FDA.

“SCAN has been operating under an emergency use authorization (EUA) from the Washington State Department of Health,” the notice says, adding that while the FDA has allowed states to approve new Covid-19 tests, “we have been notified that under revised guidance issued on May 8th, a separate federal EUA is now required” to continue testing.

Washington Free Beacon’s David Rutz reported: “Stelter said Sunday that he was disappointed in right-wing media’s ‘obsession’ with recent revelations about the Russia probe and its origins, calling it insignificant in light of the coronavirus pandemic.”

Rutz pointed out that Stelter’s Sunday morning show was “focused heavily on the ‘drip, drip, drip’ of Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation” for years, and it “ultimately found no evidence of a conspiracy between the Donald Trump campaign and the Kremlin in the 2016 election.”

‘Please Don’t Misgender Me’: Reporter Apologizes After Calling Transgender PA Health Secretary ‘Sir’

A Pittsburgh radio station talk show host was rebuked by Pennsylvania’s health department secretary, who is transgender, for misgendering the secretary during a press call, Penn Live reported.

Marty Griffin, the host of KDKA-AM, called Dr. Rachel Levine “sir” during a conference call with reporters Tuesday, according to Penn Live.

Griffin was asking a question about the different phases the state is implementing to ease stay-at-home orders, and said “sir” twice. Levine responded by telling Griffin “please don’t misgender me,” and that it was “really insulting.”

Senate panel moves to issue subpoena in probe of Hunter Biden in Ukraine

Vote scheduled next week follows revelations Democrat-connected firm was meeting with U.S. embassy over Hunter Biden affair.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday scheduled a vote for next week to issue a subpoena to a Democratic consulting firm that has emerged as a key figure in the probe of Hunter Biden's business activities in Ukraine.

The move by Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., the committee's chairman, signals the panel's probe is escalating after months of interviews and gathering of documents, including Obama-era memos obtained from the National Archives.

The focus of the probe is whether Vice President Joe Biden, who led Obama's policy on Ukraine, engaged in the appearance of a conflict of interest or took any actions to assist the Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings while his son Hunter worked on its board and was paid more than $3 million to his U.S.-based firm.

Sen. Ron Johnson to Request Biden, Other Obama-Era Officials Testify on ‘Unmasking’

(R-WI) signaled Wednesday that he will request Obama administration officials, including former Vice President Joe Biden, to testify in the wake of revelations that they may have sought to “unmask” communications by retired Army Lieutenant General Michael Flynn.

“Right now we’re in the information-gathering phase of this and this obviously, from my standpoint, raises a lot more questions than it actually answers,” Johnson told reporters, according to The Hill. “We will start requesting interviews with those individuals.”

“I want to find out what you were looking at, why you unmasked an American’s identity and how you used that,” the Wisconsin Republican added, before noting that he will seek interviews with former Director of National Intelligence Clapper, former CIA Director Brennan, Obama Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, and “possibly the vice president.”

Johnson’s remarks come after acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell submitted a declassified list to the Wisconsin Republican and Sen. Chuck Grassley (I-IA) of Obama administration officials who had requested names to be “unmasked” between November 8, 2016, and Jan. 31, 2017.

Despite coronavirus, Space Force prepping for back-to-back rocket launches

The commander of the Space Force’s local wing says his teams are ready for this weekend’s back-to-back rocket launches, possibly breaking a decades-old mission cadence record despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

45th Space Wing Commander Brig. Gen. Doug Schiess said Tuesday he expects about 300 people – military and civilian – to support Saturday’s launch of an Air Force X-37B spaceplane from Cape Canaveral’s Launch Complex 41. A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket will take the 29-foot-long secretive spacecraft to orbit sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., though an exact time has not been released due to security reasons.

If X-37B flies as planned, the Space Force will turn around and support a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch with 60 Starlink internet satellites from Launch Complex 40 less than a day later.

“That would be about 20 hours, which would break our record of last August of 34 hours,” Schiess said of the mission slated to fly around 4 a.m. Sunday. “That hasn’t been broken in about 30 years.”

About 200 people, including firefighters, security, and launch support, would be on-hand for Starlink’s eighth mission. Schiess said the difference in 100 or so staff between Atlas V and Falcon 9 is due to the latter’s use of the Autonomous Flight Safety System, or AFSS, which can automatically destroy Falcon 9 rockets in the event of emergencies. Atlas V rockets require more staff in the loop because they use flight termination systems, or FTS, which require human input.

Fmr. US Sen. Bob Dole now lobbying for Chinese-owned chemical firm

Former Republican Sen. Bob Dole has registered as a lobbyist on behalf of Wanhua Chemical (America) Co., Ltd., a Texas-based chemical company that is a subsidiary to its Chinese parent company Wanhua Chemical Group Co. Ltd.

Dole’s role in the lobbying was disclosed in a disclosure form filed by the law-firm Alston & Bird. The firm has reported it is being paid $150,000 to lobby on behalf of the Chinese company in the first quarter of 2020, on “Issues related to U.S. Trade Investment Policy.”

The form further disclosures, “To the extent that Wanhua Chemical (America) Co., Ltd. realizes any benefit from legislative or executive action, so, too, would its parent company, Wanhua Chemical Group Co. Ltd.”

Yantai Guofeng Investment Holdings Co., Ltd., a wholly Chinese state-owned entity, acts as the Wanhua Chemical Group’s largest shareholder, holding 21.59% of its shares, according to a translated Chinese government asset disclosure document. Yantai Guofeng Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. appears to be a business entity of the Yantain municipal government in the Chinese province of Shandong.

Dole, 96, is a former U.S. Senator and World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division. His name is perhaps among the most prominent of those listed in Alston & Bird’s disclosure form.
