Compared to the scrubby look of the ground around it, I doubt that tennis court is even covered in grass, but a hard surface. (Har-Tru is one I've heard of.)
Don't know how to explain the lines of discoloration on it. The berms around it could be to minimize flooding and promote runoff. It could be an actual tennis court.
