Wood Fairy
As opposed to Flower Fairies, Wood Fairies are hardier creatures, with no need to hibernate come winter. Often quite incredibly slender and delicate in appearance, Wood Fairies are often more tough than they look, and often have close relationships with any nearby groups of Bowtruckles, to whom they freely give any unhatched eggs at the end of the season. There are even some wood fairies which collect the eggs of Common or Garden Fairies for Bowtruckles, and who will work with the Bowtruckles to defend their trees.
Wood Fairies are not quite so intelligent as Greater Fairies and Pixies, but are nonetheless fairly bright, as their interactions with Bowtruckles evidence, and, due to this, their body parts are not permitted for use in potions. However the unfertilised or unhatched eggs of Wood Fairies are used in some potions, and may be collected at the end of the season, though it is advised one wear goggles if doing so, as the Bowtruckles the eggs are often given to do not like their treasured treats being stolen from them.
