The wife of the former governor of the Virgin Islands was Epstein's office manager:

U.S. Virgin Islands Democratic Gov. John de Jongh’s wife works for convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a billionaire financier and recipient of significant economic-development tax breaks in the U.S. territory, The Daily Caller has confirmed.

Additionally Epstein contributed to a "school" in the VI:

The guy is a creep of the first order. It's clear that he employed DeJong's wife to have DeJong look the other way as he played his horrible games with children.

It's late and I have to work tomorrow. Maybe some of the late night anons can do some research and create some bread on DeJong. The VI government has been and continues to be corrupt. Ken Mapp is the current governor, and he's supposedly taking money hand over fist from the FEMA funds post-hurricane.

Here's some more detail on the Epstein Foundation from Wikipedia:

The Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation is based in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was established in 2000 by New York financier, science philanthropist, and convicted sex offender[5][6] Jeffrey Epstein, the Chairman and CEO of a New York investment firm called the Financial Trust Co.[7] Officially registered as J. Epstein VI Foundation, the "VI" stands for Virgin Islands, where Epstein owns a private island called Little Saint James near St. Thomas. The foundation's board includes Cecile de Jongh, the wife of the Governor of the islands, John de Jongh.

In addition to supporting science and education, Epstein sits on the board of the Mind, Brain and Behavior Committee at Harvard University. He is also actively involved in the Santa Fe Institute, the Theoretical Biology Initiative at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, and the Quantum Gravity Program at the University of Pennsylvania.[8] Epstein is also well acquainted with Harvard's ex-president Larry Summers—the two served together on the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations.[9]

There has been much controversy to the foundation and money given to Havard by Epstein. Many called upon Harvard to return donations after his conviction for soliciting an underage girl for sex, as well as to gain favor with prominent politicians and businessmen. Many other people and institutions returned donations after Epstein's prosecution for such was made public. However, Harvard refused to do so, or disassociate itself from Epstein…

More recently, the Jeffrey Epstein VI Foundation has backed cutting edge research in Hong Kong and Berlin in the field of artificial intelligence: notably efforts to map and better identify the workings of the human brain.

And in another article in https:// www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jan/13/jeffrey-epstein-donations-us-virgin-islands-review

we find the following interesting statements:

"The Guardian has learned that Epstein’s two Virgin Islands-based corporations have also funded a summer camp for children with intellectual disabilities, provided a prize for a school essay-writing competition, given computers to a pair of high-performing 14-year-old students who were heading to high school, and provided Kindle e-readers to a school library.

Epstein financed the science fair through his philanthropic foundation, which he has also used to donate to universities. In a statement, he described the event as “an exciting and important incentive for students” and said it was aimed at “awarding students for their impressive work”. He also paid for more than 100 Microsoft Surface tablets for pupils to use.

Epstein’s company for several years also funded a basketball tournament on the US Virgin Islands for children as young as six. Boyd Tobman, one of the organisers of the tournament, said on Monday that Epstein’s sponsorship would no longer be welcomed."

“I only read about his conviction a couple of days ago and wasn’t previously aware of it,” said Tobman. “I wouldn’t be happy with someone like that being involved and I don’t think we will be asking them for sponsorship again.” Tobman later said that a final decision would need to be reached with his fellow tournament organisers."

and from : https:// www.stjohntradewinds.com/jeffrey-epstein-sex-scandal-fingers-britain-s-prince-andrew-in-underage-v-i-sex-action/

"As he enjoyed the 2014 elections from the sidelines, Gov. de Jongh told St. John Tradewinds in a September interview on the Loredon L. Boynes Dock that he was interested in pursuing a post-government-service career in the private finance sector."

And this guy, Donald Sussman, who shares the same attorney as Epstein, also needs to be investigated: From: http:// www.themainewire.com/2012/05/sussman-associates-entangled-virgin-islands-bribery-scandal/

"Epstein, like Sussman, is a recipient of the USVI EDC tax credit. Epstein was convicted and served 13 months in prison for committing sex crimes. Epstein admitted to procuring underage girls and having sexual relations with them. He has settled 17 cases with other women who have made similar claims"

I sailed past there about 4 weeks ago in a friend's catamaran, about 700 yds offshore. The island looked uninhabited. Although I did see one work truck that looked like it was landscaping. There was still evidence of hurricane damage from last September. We sailed west to east through the St James Cut from Christmas Cove. The water gets extremely choppy in the cut making photographing very difficult.

For clarification Rockefeller donated the property and the VI National Park was established in 1956. WJC extended it to include the Coral Reef National Monument.

The extension definitely provides Little St. James with additional protection and privacy–keeps large ships away but the reef is only north and south of St. John. Little St. James is southwest and the national park is on the north and east ends of St. John. So it's not precisely tied to Little St. James.
