The H3N2 (Hong Kong Flu) pandemic of 1968-1969 killed a million people worldwide (100,000 in the United States). It was discovered in September 1968, and peaked that winter. By March, (without masks, social distancing or world wide closures), the virus was under control. Woodstock happened in the summer of 1969 and the virus did not make a resurgence until November of 1969, during typical flu season.

So, even if every concert tour and public place stays closed through the summer, CV-19 will probably still be an unwanted guest this fall.

Woodstock survived H3N2. Either hippies are immune to viruses or summer weather is not conducive to germ reproduction. Either way, stopping outdoor summertime festivals and sporting events isn’t gonna fix this come fall/winter.
