World Trade Organization chief Roberto Azevedo to step down a year early
The leader of the 164-member World Trade Organization shocked members on Thursday by announcing he would step down a year early.
“This August, I will complete seven years as WTO Director General,” WTO Director-General Roberto Azevedo said in a statement. “And I have decided that I will step down from my current position on 31 August 2020, cutting short my second term in office by exactly one year.”
