The IC has been mis-using the "classification" system for a LONG time to hide their dirty deeds, esp the "SAP" (Special Access Programs). It is a GROSS abuse of power, and illegal.
Another gross abuse of power is that the IC decides what they will reveal/brief to their audience. If the IC doesn't want you to know it, they will by "consensus" decide not to brief it. The IC has a long history of "lying by omission" which means they only tell you the part of the story they want you to know, to guide you to their pre-determined decision tree. If you had ALL the information, your decision tree might be larger/different …..
Which is one of the reasons they hate POTUS with such a passion. As a businessman with global operations, he had the resources and the need to develop and build his own highly effective private business intelligence network. If you listen to honest career IC people, they will tell you a very high percentage of "actionable intelligence" is actually open source (if you know where to look), and that HOW that information is interpreted and acted upon is the difference.
POTUS knows that they have been lying, dissembling, etc and that is one of the reasons they hate him with such an intense passion.
He has the money, the connections and the privately engaged personnel to run parallel intelligence gathering to them.
