My mother is almost 30 years younger and thinks I'M the brainwashed one for not believing the corporate media, despite overwhelming and constant evidence of their corruption and complicity. The complete lack of intellectual curiosity is what disgusts me the most, but I guess it's been beaten out of a lot of people over the years.
Yep, sounds like my mom verbatim. Spouts MSNBC talking points, then when confronted with evidence to the contrary immediately switches subjects. The cognitive dissonance is astounding, especially from people you love. I grew up in a deep blue family in a deep blue city and attempting to tell people what's going on has been the most isolating experience of my entire life. The brainwashing is so strong that you do more harm than good trying to wake up people who aren't prepared. Thank God for the plan is all I can say.
