Elon Musk to Twitter Followers: "Take the Red Pill"

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who usually stays out of politics, has been pretty vocal in recent weeks after Alameda County, California refused to allow him to re-open his Tesla factory.

On Sunday morning, the Tesla CEO couldn't have been more clear about his political preference when he tweeted, "Take the red pill."

The "red pill" phrase stems from the Matrix where the main character Neo is offered a choice to take the "red pill" which would opens his eyes to an unpleasant truth, or to take the "blue pill" and remain ignorant.

In recent years, "taking the red pill" has been when a person who either belongs to the left or doesn't have a political opinion, takes the "red pill" and becomes a conservative.

The Tesla CEO is clearly upset with Democratic leadership. Last week, Musk filed a lawsuit against Alameda County, California, after they blocked him from re-opening his Fremont factory despite them lifting regulations on other businesses.

Musk also revealed that he would "immediately" be moving his Tesla headquarters to Nevada or Texas considering Alameda county refused to let him re-open his factory.

"Frankly, this is the final straw," Musk tweeted. "Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependen on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA."

Musk has clearly had enough with California's anti-capitalistic behavior which is why he is planning on leaving the state, citing that Alameda county's rules are "irrational" and "in violation of constitutional civil liberties."

“I’m not messing around," Musk said on Saturday. "Absurd & medically irrational behavior in violation of constitutional civil liberties, moreover by unelected county officials with no accountability, needs to stop.”
