A controversial biotech firm is claiming early positive progress on its trial of a coranavirus vaccine — giving a massive financial boost to President Trump’s newly minted vaccine czar.

The report sent Moderna stock soaring by up to 34% in pre-market trading Monday. It was trading up a more modest 22% by midmorning.The stock spike temporarily added at least $3.4 million to the bottom line of Moncef Slaoui, the just-named vaccine czar who was on the board of Moderna until his appointment. Moderna is backed by millions of dollars invested by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Slaoui, a veteran Big Pharma exec, holds 156,000 stock options that increased in value by more than $3 million on the Monday morning news.Ethics experts called the lucrative morning for Slaoui a prime example of why he should not be making decisions about winners and losers in the coronavirus vaccine race.

“You could hurt or kill millions of people,” said Peter Maybarduk of Public Citizen, a watchdog groulp. “A better vaccine might not be created or it might not be distributed to the widest number of people.”

The US is Dramatically Overcounting Coronavirus Deaths

Over 86,500 people have reportedly died in the United States from the Coronavirus, and the fear generated by those deaths is driving the public policy debate. But that number is a dramatic overcount. Our metrics include deaths that have nothing to do with the virus. The problem is even worse as the Centers for Disease Control over counts even some of these cases and the government has created financial incentives for this misreporting. Relying on these flawed numbers is destroying businesses and jobs and costing lives.

“The case definition is very simplistic,” Dr. Ngozi Ezike, director of Illinois Department of Public Health, explains. “It means, at the time of death, it was a COVID positive diagnosis. That means, that if you were in hospice and had already been given a few weeks to live, and then you also were found to have COVID, that would be counted as a COVID death. It means, technically even if you died of clear alternative cause, but you had COVID at the same time, it’s still listed as a COVID death.”

Medical examiners in Michigan use the same definition. In Macomb and Oakland Counties, where most of the deaths occurred, medical examiners classify any deaths as Coronavirus deaths when the postmortem test is positive. Even people who died in suicides and automobile accidents meet that definition.

Still, these broad definitions are not due to a few rogue public health officials. The rules direct them to do this. Unlike other countries, “if someone dies with COVID-19, we are counting that as a COVID-19 death,” as Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response coordinator, recently noted.

Classifications go beyond even these broad categories. New York is classifying cases as Coronavirus deaths even when postmortem tests have been negative. Despite negative tests, classifications are based on symptoms, even though the symptoms are often very similar to those of the seasonal flu. The Centers for Disease Control guidance explicitly acknowledges the uncertainty that doctors can face. When Coronavirus cases are “suspected,” they advise doctors that “it is acceptable to report COVID-19 on a death certificate.”

UN does not rule out that militants from Syria may be sent to fight in Libya

United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen has called on Russia and the United States to continue dialogue on Syria

UNITED NATIONS, May 18. /TASS/. Militants from Syria are sent to Libya to fight on both sides of the conflict in that country, United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen said at an online UN Security Council meeting on Monday.

"Let us also remember that Syria’s instability reverberates elsewhere too — including as far as Libya, given reports of fighters being recruited in Syria in large numbers and sent to fight on both sides of that conflict," he said.

Currently, Libya has two supreme executive authorities, namely the internationally-recognized Tripoli-based Government of National Accord headed by Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj, and the interim government of Abdullah al-Thani, seated in the east of the country, along with the elected parliament, which is supported by the Libyan National Army led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

The conflicting parties have been fighting to gain control of the capital city for more than a year after Haftar launched an offensive in early April 2019 to liberate the city, as he put it.

Russia-US dialogue on Syria

The UN secretary general’s special envoy has called on Russia and the United States to continue dialogue on Syria.

"I want to stress that renewed and meaningful international cooperation, building trust and confidence between international stakeholders and with Syrians, including through reciprocal measures, is essential and could unlock progress," Pedersen stated.

"I believe that Russian-American dialogue has a key role to play here, and I encourage them to pursue it," he said, adding that the Astana format (Russia, Iran and Turkey) and the so-called Small Group on Syria (the United Kingdom, Germany, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United States and France) should ultimately pool their efforts under the United Nations auspices.

Moderna’s Israeli top medical officer: We’ve shown today that our vaccine works

US biotech firm’s shares soar as it claims tests of first volunteers show its vaccine candidate produces immune response, ‘has potential to prevent COVID-19’; Phase 3 tests in July

The Israeli chief medical officer of US biotech firm Moderna said Monday that its experimental anti-COVID-19 vaccine “actually works,” after tests on a small number volunteers, and that it will start Phase 3 testing on thousands of people in July.

“We got the first results today… and today we are showing that it actually works… we are able to stimulate the immune system,” Dr. Tal Zaks said.

In an interview with Israeli television, Zaks said he was confident that, toward the end of the year, “we’ll be able to present first results that prove that our vaccine indeed prevents the disease.”

“By about the end of the year, the start of next year, there’s a reasonable likelihood that we’ll see this vaccine on the market, at least on the American market,” he said in the Channel 12 interview from Moderna’s headquarters in Massachusetts.

Israeli envoy to US said pushing for swift annexation as Biden could beat Trump

TV report quotes Ron Dermer saying during closed briefings that Israel has ‘a one time opportunity’ to apply sovereignty over West Bank settlements, Jordan Valley

Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer is lobbying for Israel to quickly move ahead with annexing parts of the West Bank as the presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden may win the US presidential elections in November, Channel 13 reports.

Citing three unnamed Israeli and American sources, the network says Dermer has been trying to convince members of the Trump administration, Republic senators and congressmen, journalists and other figures of the need to move forward with the application of Israeli sovereignty over settlements and the Jordan Valley.

“We need to move forward with annexation now because we don’t know what will happen in the US presidential elections in November — Biden may win. Now there’s a window of opportunity and therefore this needs to be done now,” Dermer is quoted saying during closed briefings.

He reportedly adds: “There’s a one time opportunity to advance annexation while Trump is still there.”

The report says Dermer, who is a close confidante of Prime Minister Netanyahu, was looking to speed up annexation, as he was aware of disagreements in the White House and State Department, with some US officials saying the move should wait.

According to the report, US officials’ hesitancy about annexation was the result of multiple factors: Opposition by allies Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates; concerns the move could destabilize Jordan; the White House’s preoccupation with the coronavirus pandemic; and the reservations expressed by new Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, when they met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last week.

An aide to Biden said last month that the former US vice president opposes unilateral annexation.

A Retired Principal Spent 35 Years In Schools. He’ll Do 8 Years In Prison For Child Porn

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – A federal judge today sentenced Frank Richard Beyer (a/k/a “Rick Beyer”), 75, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to 97 months in prison for possessing child pornography that included images of boys under age 12 engaged in sex acts and exposing their genitals. Prior to living in Florida, Beyer lived in New York, where he taught sixth grade and was an elementary school principal.

Ariana Fajardo Orshan, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and George L. Piro, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Miami Field Office, made the announcement.

According to court records, law enforcement received multiple cyber tips that an on-line user had uploaded child pornography to internet platforms. The cybertips included an email address that led law enforcement officers to Beyer. On November 20, 2019, officers executed a search warrant at Beyer’s home. They found external digital storage devices that contained multiple pictures and videos of children (some under age 12) engaging in explicit sexual conduct with other children or adults. Law enforcement later forensically examined Beyer’s devices, finding almost 4,000 pictures and over 1,200 videos of child pornography. They also discovered that Beyer communicated with at least one person on an encrypted chat program and distributed child pornography to that person.

On March 5, 2020, Beyer pled guilty to possessing child pornography.

U.S. Attorney Fajardo Orshan commended the investigative efforts of FBI, Broward County Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Ajay Alexander prosecuted this case.

An Israeli poster on 4 chan said Shin Bet, Israel's internal 'Mossad', killed the ambassador at China's request after Du Wei tried to defect and share info on China bio-warfare labs, and then was double-crossed.

Adding to a string of suspicious coronavirus events and deaths, is the 'sudden mysterious death' of healthy-seeming, age in late 50s Chinese ambassador to Israel Du Wei, at his home in Herzliya near Tel Aviv on 17 May.

This was just 4 days after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo broke international quarantine to visit Israel on 13 May.

And shortly after Du Wei had publicly criticized Pompeo's aggressive charges accusing China of guilt in causing the global 'covid-19 pandemic.'

Before arriving in Israel, Du Wei had previously China's ambassador in hotspot Ukraine during 2016-19, he maybe had many stories to tell.

Daughters of UK care home resident, 68, who died from coronavirus insist she wasn't 'frail or ill' and say 'shameful' government policy is to blame for her death

A woman who passed away in a care home with a lack of PPE 'shouldn't have died' after contracting coronavirus, said her daughters.

Susan Marsten, 68, was living in a specialist care home in Manchester after being diagnosed with Huntington's disease, and contracted Covid-19 when a patient who tested positive for the virus returned from hospital.

Her daughters Ruth and Sarah appeared on Good Morning Britain today were they said their mother was not 'frail or unwell', and claim her death could have been prevented if the care home had different policies in place.

Susan died while staying in a 'shared unit with a lack of PPE'.

They think the care home was 'at the bottom of the pile' during the crisis, and say the home was having to phone up Public Health England to try to get information on how to best handle the crisis.

Plandemic Documentary Website Hacked and Defaced

The website for the viral Plandemic documentary has been hacked and defaced by what appears to be a very outraged leftist.

The documentary has faced intense backlash from the left, with journalists even taking the time to write scripts for leftists to use to counter any friends or relatives who may have watched it.

Despite being censored by YouTube, the documentary has been viewed millions of times on BitChute and other platforms. It features an interview with Dr. Judy Mikovitz, a virologist who claims that the coronavirus was created in a laboratory and that wearing a mask will endanger people and cause them to be repeatedly reinfected.

On Monday afternoon, PlandemicMovie.com website, which redirects to WatchPlandemic.com, was hacked and replaced with a black screen and bullet points claiming that the film is wrong and that Dr. Mikovitz, the focus of the documentary, is “bat sh-t crazy.” The site normally features places for people to watch it, since it keeps getting censored and removed from various platforms.

“The world is scary now. Believing that this is all part of a global conspiracy is more comforting than the truth. If we give into fear and ignore actual science things will only get worse,” the hacker wrote.

The hacker did not provide any sources or material to refute the claims in the documentary, simply a bullet point list of assertions.

Ghost of J. Edgar Haunts Flynn Investigation

In this time of unprecedented political polarization, it’s disappointing but not surprising to see the Justice Department’s recent request to dismiss its prosecution of retired General Michael Flynn causing yet another media firestorm to swirl around Attorney General William Barr.

Obama Administration former officials, like the hyperventilating authors of this New York Times’ op-ed, “The Appalling Damage of Dropping the Michael Flynn Case,” go so far as to claim that dropping the case “embeds into official U.S. policy a shockingly extremist view of law enforcement as the enemy of the American people.”

In stark contrast, other former FBI agents, myself included, are appalled at Bureau and other “national security” officials’ numerous suspicious departures from standard FBI/Department of Justice policies that have finally been brought to light, marking this most bizarre investigation aimed at “get(ting) Flynn to lie.”

Flynn was asked to “a friendly chat” with the FBI on Jan. 24, 2017, for which he was told he would not need a lawyer present. The interview was part of the FBI’s Russiagate investigation, a purported scandal that has now all but totally collapsed.

The agents wanted to speak with him about his conversations with Sergey Kislyak, the then Russian ambassador to the U.S., while Flynn was on the Trump transition team as incoming national security advisor. Having already read the transcripts of those intercepted conversations there was nothing the agents could learn from Flynn.

According to FBI administrative notes released earlier this month, an official identified in the press as Bill Priestap, then assistant director of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division, asked whether the only aim of the upcoming interview with Flynn was to get him to lie about his conversations with Kislyak. “Our goal is to determine if Mike Flynn is going to tell the truth about his relationship with Russians,” said Priestap in a hand-written note. But Priestap was having second thoughts.

“I agreed yesterday that we shouldn’t show Flynn [REDACTED] if he didn’t admit,” he wrote, the redaction presumably meaning the transcript of Flynn’s calls with Kislyak. “I thought about it last night, and I believe we should rethink this. What is our goal? Truth/admission or to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired?…Protect our institution by not playing games.”

Flynn was indeed formally charged with lying to an FBI agent and on Dec. 1, 2017 pled guilty after Russiagate Special Counsel Robert Mueller reportedly threatened to prosecute his son. Flynn was fired by Donald Trump after Flynn lied to the vice president about the conversations with Kislyak.

Trump Campaign Launches New True Crime Style Video and Website Aimed At Joe Biden

The Trump campaign has launched a true crime style website and YouTube show aimed at former Vice President Joe Biden titled “The Truth Over Facts.”

The website aims to uncover “the truth behind Joe Biden’s never-ending, seemingly incomprehensible statements.”

The branding is likely a play on a gaffe Biden made during a speech in Iowa last year, saying “we choose truth over facts.”

“If you have any tips related to the discovery of truth over facts, text TRUTH to 88022,” the website says.

The Trump campaign told The Wrap that they will be trying to “unlock the secrets behind Joe Biden’s incomprehensible babbling.””

“The American people deserve to know the truth behind Joe Biden’s delirious and nonsensical claims on the campaign trail,” said Tim Murtaugh, the Trump campaign’s communications director. “When he’s mangling the text of the Declaration of Independence or calling someone a ‘lying, dog-faced pony soldier,’ is he really speaking a language that only he and a select group of others understand? This campaign for president cannot be allowed to continue for one more minute until we try to unlock the secrets behind Joe Biden’s incomprehensible babbling.”
