I want to share something about image shape with you.
If making images for Twitter, shape matters.
The square ones get truncated and Twitter will show only the BOTTOM PORTION in the Timeline View. This limits the value of square memes.
The solution is to make them landscape shaped, 2x1 twice as wide as they are high. Sometimes that requires putting the image on a 1024 x 512 pixel canvas.
Example 1, how we hope a square meme will look.
Example 2, how a square image REALLY looks in timeline view (as seen by most people).
Example 3, how to fix it. The memefag put it on a rectangular canvas. Now it look great in timeline view.

Takes a little attention from ol' MF to ID memes that need twitter version created and what color canvas to put them on, but the tooling is easy & done already.

Am trying a liddle experiment.
Have created a bit of automation to help our memes play nice on Twitter.
For squarish-shaped (1:1) memes, made 2:1 landscape-shaped duplicate. Same filename plus a numeral. Some with white background and some with black background, depending on what looks better.
Too much work to file ALL the wide-format duplicates in Memes bread, so don't look there for them. (There are a few.) Keyboard Warriors who seek Twitter-shaped memes will find them in the mega meme warehouse.
New policy from now on. Starting from June 4th, 2020.
Let me know of any feedback on this.
