Applications for CA program to give stimulus checks started yesterday, May 18. It should be interesting to watch this program backfire on Dem leadership in CA.

Look at the numbers: "California is home to more than 2 million undocumented immigrants who aren’t eligible to receive unemployment or stimulus checks from the government.

But the state has set up funding to help support them during the coronavirus crisis, providing $125 million through a public-private partnership. It’s been touted as the first fund of its kind to support undocumented immigrants. The state will contribute $75 million to the fund, with the remaining $50 million coming from private philanthropic partners.

A group of 12 immigrant-focused nonprofits across the state will help roughly 150,000 undocumented adults impacted by the virus apply for the funds. The application period begins Monday and runs through June 30." https://www.ocregister.com/2020/05/18/california-undocumented-immigrants-can-apply-for-covid-19-relief-starting-monday/

7.5 % of all CA undocumented immigrants will receive help. 92.5% won't.

Each successful applicant will receive a maximum of $500. So out of the designated $125 million dollars, $75 million (60%) will go to immigrants (150,000 x $500= $75 million) and $50 million (40%) will be siphoned off for something else. Many immigrants can do math.
