Property records are PUBLIC RECORD and can be accessed by ANYONE. You waltz your ass into the County courthouse "Recorder of Deeds" or "Register of Deeds" and there's usually instructions or Title Company employees who are there searching every day and they will help steer you to the the right area. Sometimes you can "Tom Sawyer" your way thru the search if you are gracious enough. You can obain everything ever recorded on any parcel. You may have to use the Land Books. This is not hard. If I can do it anybody can do it. This was a minute but critical part of my job. Don't want to seize the wrong property now do we? The County employees in large counties are not that helpful but those Title Company people are very helpful. Tax records are in another office usually in the same building. All of this is PUBLIC RECORD and you are entitled to the data. 1. Get the legal description of the property and tax ID too. 2. Legal description to trace all ownership. Tax ID to follow the payors and valuations. Easy peasy.
Sauce: 30+ years of I did that shit. Early and often, don't want to snatch the wrong property and sell it, right?
