>accept the plea agreement or face years in jail
We've been trained to be pussies and accept this, but hitting the brakes is guaranteed failure.
Think in terms of driving a car.
If you lock up the wheels, you're just going to slide off the corner, and that's exactly what a plea deal is. Prosecutors offer a cushion for guaranteeing you slide off the road exactly where they want…but you're still wrecked, and they're empowered by your compliance.
Any driver familiar with dirt roads (or drifting enthusiast) instinctively knows this fallacy, and how to counter it, though. You NEVER slam on the brakes, and use the throttle instead. Point the front wheels where you want the car to go, and apply just enough throttle to keep the rear wheels pushing the car forward rather than letting it go into a spin.
The same theory is true of defying unconstitutional lockdown orders. Stay at home, and you lose. Go out and be a pussy, and you lose. Blatantly disregard orders, and you win, but only if you have the balls to keep on the gas when the police state says "Nyet!".
Guy who got arrested coming out of the gym was either a fool for refusing to give his name for a summons, or a genius for forcing an arrest under fruit of the poisonous tree. If the lockdown was unconstitutional, the police had no business being there in the first place to demand his name, and he has a beautiful opportunity to establish precedent by suing for unlawful arrest…or he could just be a moran who did it for ego.
