Mel Gibson's new straight-to-streaming movie, "Force of Nature", is loosely based around the events of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

The release of the trailer has sparked some outrage on social media, where some people are claiming racism and pointing out the unsavoury pasts of the actors.

"Force of Nature" follows the main character (Gibson) refusing to leave his home amid a Category 5 hurricane. Frustrated by her father’s stubbornness, his daughter calls an officer (Hirsch) to reason with him and get him to safety. Hirsch and Gibson later team up to fight a Latino gang who try to break into the apartment complex.
