Agreed. HCQ = OTC
There might be another way to approach it as well. Whatever stops the media from bitching.
Make it an official treatment for covid 19.
So that the nursing homes don't go "DUH?!?" when faced with a patient with covid 19.
The nursing homes need to go right to HCQ. Or, alternatively, the nursing homes need to go right something that works. In Maine, at Tall Pines 32 patients - 13 dead. Did they use HCQ? Did they use anything?
They need to make sure that the nursing homes are using HCQ immediately. HCQ doesn't need to be OTC for that to happen. But some law or regulation or something does need to be changed so that the people in nursing homes stop dying.
They could make HCQ an OTC, but that might not tell the people in charge of the nursing homes that what they need to do is give the old people with the covid the HCQ immediately. That requires a change (I think) in the CDC guidance about what the appropriate treatment of covid is. I would be in favor of making HCQ an OTC, but I don't think that actually solves the problem.
