3-3. Functional Capabilities

The functional elements of PSYOP units op­erating within the cycle are command and con­trol, operational, and supply and maintenance.

The functional capabilities of these elements are as follows:

A. Command and Control.

(1) Commands PSYOP units.

(2) Performs detailed planning of PSYOP programs and prepares plans and or­ders.

(3) Provides administrative and logisti­cal support for organic and attached units.

(4) Recommends appropriate allocation of PSYOP resources within the supported com­mand.

(5) Conduct PSYOP in support of the unit to which assigned or attached.

B. Operational.

(1) Development.

(a) Conducts research and analysis and develops appropriate plans to support PSYOP.

(b) Develops:

1. radio scripts

2. television scripts

3. speeches

4. proclamations

5. pamphlets

6. demonstration plans

7. rumor campaigns

8. posters

and similar material for production.
