That is not categorically true. We have worn mask & gloves to placate some elderly people in our family. It's ridiculous and irrational, but they will not have contact with anyone who has not. It's ridiculous and irrational BUT sometimes you take one for the team and humor grandparents because they will not be around for much longer.
