If you follow Baltimore politics even slightly, the name of Sheila Dixon is probably ringing a bell. That’s because she was the other mayor of the city who was driven from office following a conviction on corruption charges. She was convicted of embezzlement roughly a decade ago. While the amount of money she stole paled in comparison to the cash that Catherine Pugh was hauling in, she made up for it with the fact that she was stealing gift cards intended for the poor.

Under Whitmer's executive order, which she just extended yesterday for a week, any nursing home with less than 80% capacity will be forced to create special COVID units, regardless of their ability to protect their other patients, with the special ventilation systems, trained staff, and personal protective gear something like that would require even if it were advisable, and none of which is included in her order.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D) said Tuesday her office would mail an absentee ballot application to all 7.7 million registered voters in her state.

 

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has ordered county elections officials to send applications to the state's 12 million registered voters.

 

Raffensperger's office said Tuesday that 1.5 million Georgians had signed up to vote by absentee in the June 9 primary, far more than had ever requested a mail-in ballot before. Other states have reported similar surges.
