sorry no, Neanderthals had fire according to the books I have read.
What books / citations are you getting your info from?
Ones I've read claim that the neanderthal sites were dug up around "camp fires" but that Neanderthan did not surround the fires with stone. As did human-style primates of today.
[the stones hold the heat of the fire through the night]
They also are said to have killed Mammoths by hunting in teams but only using short daggers, so their bodies ended up like that of rodeo riders - many broken bones all over their recovered bodies.
Modern style humans, in contrast, also hunted in packs but used lances which could be thrown from a distance .
So it's claimed.
That's why modern style humans are called "tool makers"?
So the story goes.
It's in the books by Jared Diamond
"the third chimpanzee"
"Guns Germs and Steel"
one of those.
What books / citations are you getting your info from?
Maybe Sgt Pepper or Dr. Pepper knows?
maybe one of the cut-outs knows the true story?
There's moar on the discovery of the Neanderthal sites, not sure how much of it one can trust.
