Update to my covid19 testing post the other day.

I had started seeing more positive results about the same time we started doing more in hospital testing using the Abbott ID Now machine and reagents provided by the state/FEMA. I was concerned for false positives, possible contaminated kits…

Since we started using the ID Now, we had been backing up negative results with a reference PCR method; correlation has been perfect. We have also been able to confirm several positive results this way. I am satisfied with these findings and believe we are seeing a true uptick in positive cases in my area. As we are a less densely populated area, I guess it is not surprising that our numbers are a little behind those of the population centers.
