Interesting Coincidence: Rep Traficant called out the CIA and FBI at the same time Senate hearings on CIA were taking place on July 17, 1996
I searched C-Span to see if the Senate hearings that Q posted were televised and found this interesting coincident (see link and transcript below). Note: While Traficant was a Democrat, he voted more often like a conservative and was fearless in calling out corruption in the alphabet federal agencies.
Transcript of Rep Traficant
"Mr. Speaker:
The CIA and FBI never found out who killed those two CIA employees outside of CIA headquarters 3 years ago.
They didn't find out who was responsible for the bombing of PanAm 103.
They never found out who carried out the recent Saudi Arabia bombings, but lo and behold, the Washington Post has uncovered that the anonymous author of the book Primary Colors is Newsweek writer Joe Klein.
Now, let's check this out. The CIA and the FBI get billions of dollars from Congress every year and they can't seem to find a restroom around.
Dare I say, something is drastically wrong when a newspaper can solve a national mystery and a T.V. network has to notify America that there's a military invasion in Kuwait. But, the CIA and the FBI can't even tell us who hired Craig Livingstone.
Beam me up Mr. Speaker.
Now, I yield back to all the deceit, cover up, and lies of this FBI filegate matter."
