California Couple in College Admissions Case Agrees to Plead Guilty

Loughlin and Giannulli are the 23rd and 24th parents to plead guilty in the college admissions case.

BOSTON – Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli have agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy charges in connection with securing the fraudulent admission of their two children to the University of Southern California as purported athletic recruits.

Pope Francis called the planned event “a concrete witness of what sports should be: a –‘bridge’ that unites men and women of different religions and cultures, promoting inclusion, friendship, solidarity, education. In other words, a ‘bridge’ of peace”.

Since the event has been cancelled, the Pope said that even though those who would have participated cannot “race with their legs”, they can still “race with their hearts”.
