Google is afraid of Q and removes QAnon apps from Play Store for violating terms

The search giant says it's combating truthful but "harmful information (to the Dem)."

Google said on Thursday it had removed three apps related to the QAnon conspiracy theory from its Play Store digital marketplace.

The apps called QMAP, Q Alerts! and Q Alerts LITE were taken down for violating Google's policies against "harmful information," the company said. The removal was earlier reported by Media Matters for America, a progressive not-for-profit.

The QAnon conspiracy theory has become popular among a group of supporters of President Donald Trump. One claim is that celebrities are involved in child sex trafficking and pedophilia. Another tenet is that Trump is working to take down the so-called "Deep State," a secret network that manipulates and controls government policy. The theory revolves around "Q," an anonymous user who began writing about the conspiracies on imageboard site 4chan.

"Now more than ever, combating misinformation on the Play Store is a top priority for the team," a Google spokesman said in a statement. "When we find apps that violate Play policy by distributing misleading or harmful information, we remove them from the store."

Google didn't answer questions about how many times the apps had been downloaded. The search giant also didn't say how much money it might have made from the apps, some of which reportedly required a payment to download.

Google isn't the only tech giant that's removed QAnon content in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Facebook removed five pages dedicated to the conspiracy theory for violating rules against inauthentic behavior.

The search giant more broadly has been dealing with misinformation on its services. YouTube has been struggling to remove uploads of the Plandemic, a 26-minute viral video that includes conspiracy theories about the novel coronavirus.

The guest line-up features another physician who has publicly denounced President Donald Trump’s immigration policies and handling of the coronavirus crisis, while praising the World Health Organization, which downplayed the gravity of the outbreak in its early weeks.

In a video interview with Julia Roberts on Thursday, Dr. Fauci urged people to pay more attention to how the coronavirus is impacting poorer countries. “We have, really, a moral responsibility for people throughout the world,” he said.

Fauci also warned Americans not to re-open the economy too quickly. “Now is not the time to tempt fate and pull back completely,” he said. “There is a golden mean there.”

ONE Campaign was co-founded by Bono as an advocacy group to combat poverty and illness, especially in Africa. The group is closely aligned with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which has donated millions of dollars and holds a seat on its board of directors.

The Gates Foundation — the wealthiest philanthropic group in the world — has come under fire for the way its leaders have slammed President Donald Trump while praising China. Bill Gates recently praised China’s handling of the outbreak, saying that “China did a lot of things right at the beginning.” His remarks were promoted on social media by Chinese state media.

Meanwhile, his wife, Melinda Gates, recently gave President Trump a “D-“ for his response to the outbreak, saying that “we need leadership.”

The Gates Foundation is also a major donor to the World Health Organization, the embattled United Nations agency whose botched handling of the Wuhan virus and close ties to China’s Communist regime have prompted President Trump to suspend funding.

ONE Campaign also receives money from the Open Society Policy Center, the Soros lobbying group that opposes the Trump agenda and promotes open borders and other left-wing political issues.

Gayle Smith, who currently serves as president and CEO of ONE Campaign, previously worked as a special assistant to President Obama, who later appointed her to head USAID.

Smith has publicly criticized President Trump’s decision to suspend funding to the WHO. “A cut in funding would mean a reduction in funding possibly for the fight against polio where we’re near successful,” Smith said in an interview with CBS’ Face the Nation.

Future guests in #PasstheMic include Dr. Tsion Firew, a New York-based emergency doctor. Firew has publicly denounced President Trump’s border wall while praising Obama. She has also denounced President Trump’s decision to suspend WHO funding.

Italy arrests Sicily's coronavirus tsar on corruption charge

Antonino Candela was allegedly part of a "power base made up of businessmen and corrupt public officials" the police statement said, referring to activity before he became head of Sicily's coronavirus response unit.

He was among those responsible for helping to rig public tenders for medical equipment and services worth nearly 600 million euros ($660.30 million) since 2016, in return for promised bribes of around 1.8 million euros, the police alleged.

Candela, who is under house arrest, was not immediately available for comment.

Candela was director of a provincial health authority in the Sicilian capital of Palermo, which issued the tenders along with a regional agency.

"This is an absolutely alarming and disheartening picture of the level of illegality in the Sicilian health system, where systemic corruption has allowed very large illicit profits," the magistrates' arrest warrant made available to Reuters said.

The Reason Why Barack Obama Targeted Michael Flynn Goes Well Past Petty Politics

With new evidence emerging to show just how widespread the targeting of Michael Flynn was by the Obama administration, lots of questions remain. As I wrote this morning, even Christopher Steele got in on the act, being paid by the FBI to help dig up dirt on the then incoming NSA. Because of a recently declassified email by Susan Rice, we also know for sure that Barack Obama was intimately involved in the scheme.

The question of why remains front and center though.

Obviously, we could just assume politics drove matters. Donald Trump was someone Obama wanted to stop from becoming President, so they did whatever it would take to kneecap him. That’s a simple and probable enough behind their malfeasance. There’s also the issue of the Trump-Russia investigation and the realization that Flynn would uncover it all if he assumed his position. Either of those explanations makes sense, and no doubt they played a role in the thinking.

But there’s a third possibility which perhaps played a greater role in motivating Obama to take action.

For Barack Obama the purpose of Russiagate was simple and direct—to protect the Iran deal. He saw Michael Flynn as a signal threat to that legacy. Obama had to stop Flynn.

This theory is laid out via Lee Smith’s latest piece.

So if the Obama administration wasn’t alarmed by Flynn’s nonexistent ties to Russia, why was he Obama’s No. 1 target? Why were officials from the previous administration intercepting his phone calls with the Russian ambassador?

The answer is that Obama saw Flynn as a signal threat to his legacy, which was rooted in his July 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran—the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Flynn had said long before he signed on with the Trump campaign that it was a catastrophe to realign American interests with those of a terror state. And now that the candidate he’d advised was the new president-elect, Flynn was in a position to help undo the deal. To stop Flynn, the outgoing White House ran the same offense it used to sell the Iran deal—they smeared Flynn through the press as an agent of a foreign power, spied on him, and leaked classified intercepts of his conversations to reliable echo chamber allies.

Flynn had butted heads with Obama before, eventually leading to his firing. He had long opposed the Iran nuclear deal, rightly pointing out the dangers behind it and idiocy driving it. In the end, Obama would get his way though, signing a deal in 2015 which effectively green lit Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for a short delay and a lot of empty promises surrounding moderation of the regime.

But as more information came out, it was obvious that Obama didn’t just get snookered by the Mullahs. He had actively chosen to play into their hands largely because he saw the deal as the linchpin of his legacy. Some time between his re-election and the signing of the deal, Obama went from a somewhat worthy pursuit to becoming obsessed with signing a deal at all costs. That’s how you end up with situation where the Iranians are given billions in cash and only had to effectively agree to pause enrichment.

Is U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan’s collusion cameo nearing its end?

On Thursday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, on its own motion, ordered Judge Sullivan to respond within 10 days to the petition for a writ of mandamus filed by former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Earlier this week, Flynn’s counsel, Sidney Powell, filed the petition for that extraordinary writ, asking the appellate court to instruct Sullivan to grant the Justice Department’s motion to dismiss the case against Flynn.

That was after Judge Sullivan not only declined to grant the prosecution’s motion, but (a) invited non-parties to intervene in the case by filing amicus briefs (transparently, to make arguments that he somehow has authority to deny DOJ’s motion); and (b) appointed one amicus, former federal judge John Gleeson, as a quasi-prosecutor to make arguments that prosecutors are declining to make in favor of entering a judgment of conviction and sentencing Flynn.

As I noted Wednesday, Sullivan’s encouragement of amicus briefs, which are not authorized in criminal cases, flies in the face of Sullivan’s own very firm orders previously declining to permit amicus briefs in Flynn’s case – some two dozen times by Powell’s count.

The appointment of Gleeson is equally astonishing and offensive to the principle of courts as impartial arbiters.

Democrat election judge pleads guilty to stuffing ballot box

Democrats continue to insist that vote fraud is a Republican conspiracy theory, but it was a former Democratic judge of elections in Philadelphia who pleaded guilty Thursday to accepting $2,500 in bribes to inflate the vote totals for three Democratic candidates.

Domenick J. DeMuro, 73, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to deprive Philadelphia voters of their civil rights by fraudulently stuffing the ballot boxes for the candidates for Common Pleas Court in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 primary elections, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Announcing the guilty plea Thursday, U.S. Attorney William M. McSwain said DeMuro also is accused of violating the Travel Act, which bars the use of a cell phone to promote illegal activity such as bribery.

"Our election system relies on the honesty and the integrity of its election officials," McSwain said. "If they are corrupt, the system is corrupt, which creates opportunities for election fraud and for the counting of fake votes."

The U.S. attorney said DeMuro "fraudulently stuffed the ballot box by literally standing in a voting booth and voting over and over, as fast as he could, while he thought the coast was clear."

"This is utterly reprehensible conduct. The charges announced today do not erase what he did, but they do ensure that he is held to account for those actions," McSwain said.

The Inquirer reported DeMuro admitted that a political consultant paid him to add votes for Democratic candidates.

According to court documents, DeMuro inflated vote totals in a May 2014 primary by adding 27 fraudulent ballots. The following May, he added 40 votes, and in May 2016 it was 46.

Prosecutors pointed out those figures were a significant percentage of the total votes cast at the polling place. In 2014, his fraudulent votes were 22% of the total of 118 ballots.

DeMuro faces up to 15 years in federal prison.

Earlier this month, a Rasmussen poll found nearly two-thirds of registered voters said moving the country to voting entirely by mail likely would increase election fraud.

Last month, when CNN White House reporter Jim Acosta challenged President Trump's concern about vote fraud at a White House briefing, the president cited a Judicial Watch lawsuit against Los Angeles County after 1.6 million ineligible voters were discovered on its roll.

Judicial Watch announced a new lawsuit, in North Carolina, where many of the state's 100 counties have a large number of ineligible voters on their rolls.

Judicial Watch's 2019 study found 378 counties nationwide that had more voter registrations than citizens old enough to vote

The 378 counties combined had about 2.5 million registrations over the 100% registered mark.

That's a drop of about 1 million from Judicial Watch's previous analysis of voter registration data in 2017.
