Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) on Thursday called President Donald Trump "a petulant child" and said that as far as her office concerned, he is no longer welcome in the state after the president was seen touring a Ford production plant while not wearing a mask.

President Trump visited a Ford plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and sent the mainstream media into a flurry over the fact that he did not wear a facial covering in accordance with the state's strict social distancing laws amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Following his trip, Nessel rushed to be on liberal network CNN for the second time that day, where she was egged on to deliver a tirade against the commander in chief for daring to skirt Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's (D) rules.

Host Wolf Blitzer noted that Nessel had vowed prior to President Trump's visit that if he did not wear a mask while touring facilities, he "would be asked not to return to any undisclosed facilities" in the state. Wolf asked the attorney general, "Is the president no longer welcome in Michigan?"

The Democrat replied, "Well, I will say, speaking on behalf of my department and my office—that's right! That's exactly right. I mean, today's events were extremely disappointing and yet, totally predictable." Nessel added, "The president is like a petulant child, who refuses to follow the rules."

The attorney general also would not rule out bringing legal action against Ford for allowing the President of the United States to go without wearing a facial covering in their factory. Nessel has previously threatened other companies with lawsuits over such violations.

The shooter was an “Arab male” and has been “neutralized.”

Judge Sanctions Trump Admin After Citizenship Question Lawsuit

An Obama-appointed federal judge sanctioned the Trump administration Thursday, ruling that the White House did not provide sufficient documentation amid its failed attempt to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census.

Jesse Furman, a federal judge for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, ordered the Trump administration on Thursday to pay attorney fees as punishment.

The administration, Furman found, did not provide hundreds of relevant documents that should’ve been turned over when it was sued for trying to add a citizenship question on this year’s census survey.

In 2019, the administration waged a protracted courtroom battle to add a question to the 2020 decennial census questionnaire asking individuals whether they are citizens of the U.S. The challenge was led by the American Civil Liberties Union, which has been behind a number of lawsuits targeting the Trump administration, particularly regarding its immigration agenda.

The fight went all the way to the Supreme Court last summer, and the administration eventually gave up on the idea.

Furman, who initially ruled against the question being included in the census, followed up on the Supreme Court’s ruling a month later by issuing an order that permanently blocked the White House from adding the question.

After Furman’s order, the same progressive organizations that successfully blocked the question sought sanctions against the administration, arguing that they withheld evidence in order to conceal their true reasons for inserting the question. The White House, the plaintiffs argued, sought to add the citizenship question for political reasons, not for their stated reasons of voting rights enforcement.

Furman on Thursday agreed that the defendants withheld pertinent documentation.

“[T]he Court concludes that sanctions are justified with respect to Defendants’ admitted failure to review and produce hundreds of documents that should have been disclosed prior to trial — a failure that may well have been inadvertent, but is nevertheless unacceptable for any litigant, and particularly for the Department of Justice (“DOJ”),” the judge wrote.

“To be sure, this was not DOJ’s finest hour,” Furman wrote in a scathing assessment of the Justice Department. “In other words, Defendants’ failure to produce the documents was caused by a lapse that would make a first-year litigation associate wince.”

The punishment for the sanctions was rather limited in scope. Furman ordered the administration must pay the attorney fees ACLU and other plaintiffs accumulated while arguing that the information should be handed over.

Man Who Recorded Ahmaud Arbery Shooting Charged With Felony Murder

Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have arrested the man who filmed the deadly shooting of Ahmaud Arbery.

William “Roddie” Bryan Jr., age 50, was booked on charges of Felony Murder & Criminal Attempt to Commit False Imprisonment. The charges stem from the February 23, 2020 shooting that resulted in the death of Arbery. He will be booked into the Glynn County Jail.

Bryan’s attorney has said a lie detector test proves he didn’t participate in the alleged crime.

Under the charge of ‘felony murder,’ an accomplice may be found guilty of murder.

This case is being investigated in by District Attorney Joyette Holmes of the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office.
