To fellow digital soldiers-
Out in the trenches of Twattersphere you can begin to see a potential spin to the release of the Flynn-Kislyek transcript form. Goes like this:
Yeah, the 302 (or transcript, when released) didn't mention sanctions, but it mentioned expulsions. Expulsions are the same as sanctions since they were done in response to an action. This is an idiotic and desperate position to cling to for multiple reasons:
1) Sanctions are official; they require an act of Congress if they impose real economic penalties, such as those placed on Russia.
2) Expulsions are at the discretion of the President, do not constitute official policy with respect to diplomacy (for example, diplomats could be expelled for feeling up a secretary).
3) Explusions and sanctions were separate events, consequently.
4) It destroys credulity to assume that FBI agents would discuss "sanctions" with Flynn when they really meant the expulsions, or vice versa. Anybody in Flynn's position and with his background would no the difference, and so would any of the FBI agents.
Just a friendly FYI. Be ready to smash this argument. It's coming.
